How to Start a Skincare Routine? + Products to use for Dry Skin
If you’re embarking on a skincare routine and need guidance on deciding which products to use, how to use them, and what they do to your skin, I will help you choose the right ones.
Let’s Dig In ✨
What's your Skin Type?
The first thing you should do before beginning a skincare routine is to know your skin type.
Knowing your skin type will help you choose the right product. I recommend the paper tissue method.
First, you wash your face with a cleanser for over a minute to remove all the impurities.
Let your face dry and wait 30 minutes without applying other skincare products.
Second thing, put a paper tissue on your whole face
– If the paper tissue does not stick to any place on your face, then you have dry skin.
– If the paper tissue sticks on the T zone and your cheeks are dry, you have a combination of skin.
– You have oily skin if the paper tissue gets stuck on your face in many places.
Now that we’ve identified our skin type, let’s explore five essential skincare products to kickstart your skincare journey. Get ready to glow!
1- Cleanser
At first, it would be best to have a good cleanser adapted to your skin type. You can do double cleansing, but I advise beginners to use a cleanser adapted to their skin type and remove all the impurities on their face, such as SPF and makeup. For those who want to begin their skincare routine with the double cleaning method, I suggest you use a good cleanser and micellar water.

2- Hydrating Cream
Whatever your skin type is, you must have the hydrating cream. Even if you have oily skin, you must have it because if you don’t hydrate it, it will produce more sebum and become oilier.

3- Vitamic C Serum
Vitamin C is a powerful antioxidant that you can use in the morning and at night. It protects you from wrinkles, black spots, and aging signs. So, vitamin C has a lot of impact on our skin and has excellent results. I advise those who want to start a skincare routine to add vitamin C serum to their list.
Keep in mind that it would be better if you applied the serums before the creams.

4- Hydrating Serum
The fourth thing that I find essential, and some don’t see as a vital product for our daily skincare, is a hydrating serum. It could be a serum of hyaluronic acid, a toner, etc. For beginners, I advise taking the acid hyaluronic serum because it helps keep water in the skin, so it’s always hydrated. Also, it protects you from fine lines due to dehydration.
5- Sunscreen
The last product on our list, and one of the most important, is SPF or Sunscreen. It has a significant role in protecting our skin. The black spots, dehydration, and pigmentation are due to UV rays and their impact on our skin. Also, applying the sunscreen will help the other products get more into the skin.
